Connect Me
The built in powered 4-port USB hub can be used to connect additional SCS.3 products to the SCS.3m allowing a single USB cable to be connected to the computer. With 2 ports on the rear of the unit it's possible to connect devices very quickly for fast setups in mobile environments. 2 additional ports on the inside of the back panel of the SCS.3m allow cables to be routed from additional 3 series controllers or storage devices such as flash drives. With a power connection the USB hub ensures that devices receive enough power for complete stability in any performance environment.

SCS.3's center section operates mainly in 3 different modes - Slider, Circle, and Button mode. These 3 different control layouts can be evoked by any of the mode buttons depending on how the DaRouter preset is programmed.

Slider Mode
SCS3d Slider ModeSlider mode gives the user 3 variable controls (like faders) that can be used by sliding your finger up and down the areas next to the 3 LED meter bars. This mode can be used for controlling many parameters at once, like an EQ. A slider may be changed by dragging a finger across the surface, or you can place your finger in an absolute position on the slider and its position will jump immediately to that point. Two fingers may be used to trigger from one position to the next. For instance, holding one finger on the bottom of the slider and tapping the top with a second finger will make the slider generate the higher value for as long as that finger remains on the surface. Once the second (upper) finger is removed, the slider will generate the value indicated by the first finger position. We refer to this as a "finger jump".

Circle Mode
SCS3d circle modeIn Circle mode, there is one slider at the center of the circle, and circular slider going around the perimeter of the touch surface. Just like in Slider mode, finger jumps are possible can be performed to quickly change the parameter in real time. This is the mode most likely to be used to emulate the platter of a deck. Circle mode is also the default mode of SCS.3d. That is to say that if you plug SCS.3d into your computer without using the DaRouter software, it will operate in Circle mode. But keep in mind that without DaRouter, the Mode Selector buttons (VINYL, LOOP, etc) will only send note data and will not change the operation of SCS.3d.

Button Mode
SCS3d Button ModeIn Button mode, the zones highlighted in the diagram will act as triggers to control buttons in the target application. For example, these functions could be assigned to alter loop lengths, jump to cue points, or start clips playing. Multiple buttons may be pressed at the same time in Button mode. Also, you will find some presets use a modified version of Button mode that makes the trigger areas bigger by combining 2 or more button zones.

SCS3d StantouchIn every mode of operation, you'll find that the touch sensitive areas on SCS.3d will respond to multiple simultaneous touches. This is part of its core functionality, and indeed many cool behaviors and gestures can be developed around this capability.

The cataloging system gives you several browsing options, including Search by Artist, Song, Title, Album, BPM and Genre. This system allows users to search the same way they would using an iPod™ or similar portable music player. Users can search by a certain word or phrase to find tracks on their storage device, even if they're unsure of the name. When the user inputs a keyword, it will search all Artists, Titles, Albums, and Genres, and show all matches to that keyword. For instance, searching for the word 'LOVE' might bring up (3) artists. It might also find (60) titles, (10) albums and (1) genre. The user can then select the artists, titles, albums, or genres from that list.

One Touch Song and ID3 tag info button
When either side of the HDC-1000 has a song loaded into it by pressing the INFO button for that corresponding side the HDC-1000's display will show you the ID3 tag information for that particular song.

Free Cortex Database Software
Although this software is not needed to operate the Cortex it allows you to use the processing power of your computer to create waveforms and help manage all your music files at the click of a mouse button. Databases can be created via the HDC unit or the PC application, allowing users to create and manage database files at a gig, or on a home computer (Mac or PC) with lightning fast speed. Single/Continuous play modes
Just as in most CD players the HDC-1000 lets you choose between playing on song at a time (Single Mode) and continuing on to the next song on the playlist (Continuous Mode).

Shuffle Mode for unattended playback
Once you have created a playlist with the Cortex software or even if you just have a group of songs on a media storage device in no particular order, Shuffle Mode will randomly play all the music on that particular device and automatically fade from one song to another unattended.

The perfect introduction to digital mixing: based on the famous Digital Jockey series, Reloop presents a new compact controller that does not make any compromises in quality and feel. Clearly structured and well arranged, the DJ will easily know his DJ moves whether as newbie or advanced. The feature set is ideally laid out for Traktor LE and offers all the important features for rocking the party crowd!

Two touchsensitive XXL jog wheels can be used either for scratching and pitch bending or for quick track searching. With the big transport section (play, cue, cup & sync) the track is quickly mixed and via shift function this section can also be used for triggering cue points. Thanks to the precise sync feature every blend-over is perfectly beat-matched and the DJ can focus on more important things such as creative remixing on the fly. Effects such as delay, flanger or reverb can be selected and manipulated with large encoders and knobs. A designated rotary control for filter (and pan) can be used for amazing high-pass and low-pass sweeps (HPF/LPF). The loop section comes with auto loop, manual in & out buttons, and a further encoder for rapid beat looping. The high-resolution 14 bit pitch fader and the illuminated pitch bend buttons round off the player section.

Besides 3-band equalizer and gain the classically arranged 2 channel mixer also offers an LED level meter and convenient MIDI data & power status lights. The large and handy Trax encoder makes digging in your music library and finding just the right track easy and fast. Master and headphones volume and the cue-mix function as high-performance fader are always at hand.

On the rear panel the LED background light and the jog wheels' sensitivity can be adjusted to one's own preferences. The shift lock switch is also a nice feature, as it can be used to activate the shift function in toggle or hold mode. A further highlight is the DJ Team switch: Two Mixage controllers can be hooked up to one computer. There’s also a set of pitch-bend buttons on each track for quick tweaks and you can adjust pitch in half steps (semitones).

The Reloop Digital Jockey 2 Interface Edition is an all-in-one software controller with built-in soundcard. Although the Digital Jockey was designed to function primarily with Native Instruments' Traktor, the world's leading DJ software, it is fully MIDI capable and can work with any MIDI capable sofware. 2 JOG WHEELS

Functions
Emulate vinyl turntables so that turning the jog wheel moves the cursor backward or forward within music tracks to select the cue point where playback will start for the audience.
Add effects to music playback such as instant speed up, instant slow down, and scratching.
Settings
Adjustable resistance: makes the jog wheels more or less resistant, according to the DJ’s preference.
Adjustable accuracy: mix with jog wheels set at their default accuracy, or divide it by 2 or 4.
Use with
Scratch On/Off button: changes the jog wheels’ function
Fine tuning: slow down or speed up playback, like when a DJ gives a record a push.
Scratching: makes a scratch sound, like when a DJ puts his hand on a record during playback (stopping the record’s rotation) and moves it backward and forward.

6 FADERS (SLIDERS)
1 Cross fader
DJ Console Rmx plays 1 stereo music track per deck (2 stereo music tracks simultaneously). The cross fader moves between the left and right decks, allowing the DJ to adjust the mix between the 2 tracks.
Setting the cross fader completely to the right means that the mix (the music the audience hears) comes 100% from the right deck: the audience doesn’t hear the music played on the left deck.
Setting the cross fader in the center means that the music comes 50% from the left deck and 50% from the right, and so on.
2 Pitch faders
Change the pitch = change the playback speed of a track, increasing or reducing its BPM (Beats Per Minute) rate, in order to make dancing easy by setting new music tracks at the same BPM as the previous track so that dancers don’t need to change their rhythm during the transition from one track to another.
Changing the pitch changes the music’s speed and tone: faster means higher tone, slower means lower tone. The DJ can keep the same tone by enabling the master tempo effect before changing the pitch so that the pitch slider only changes the tempo instead of the pitch.
3 Volume faders
"Deck A volume fader" controls the volume of the music played on deck A.
"Deck B volume fader" controls the volume of the music played on deck B.
"Main volume fader" controls the master volume.
Changing the volume on deck A or deck B lets the DJ adjust transitions between the 2 decks.

EQUALIZATION
6 rotary equalization potentiometers (3 per deck: Bass, Medium, and Treble)
Add color to your music with customs settings:
Make dancing easier by enhancing the bass (the bass provides the tempo for dancing).
Remix songs by boosting the mids (the mids contain the singer’s voice) on 1 track and mixing it with another track on the other deck, where you’ve cut the mids.
Make transitions between 2 music tracks using bass:
Synchronize the 2 tracks: move the pitch fader to set both tracks at the same BPM.
Cut off the mids and treble on both decks, keeping only the beat of the bass.
Move the cross fader from the first deck to the second, while restoring the mids and treble.
6 kill buttons (3 per deck: Bass, Medium, and Treble)
Push the buttons to cut off or restore the frequency band.
This is a faster way to cut off or restore a frequency band than using the rotary potentiometers.

GAIN
2 rotary gain potentiometers (1 per deck)
Increase or decrease the level of the tracks on each deck to put the track played on left deck at the same volume as the track played on the right deck, even if they were recorded at different levels. Gain lets the DJ compensate for different levels between tracks so that the volume is the same on both tracks when the volume faders for both tracks are set to the maximum levels.
When the DJ connects external sources to Deck A (left deck) or B (right deck), setting the gain makes it possible to compensate for differences in volume between external sources and computer audio files.

BALANCE
1 rotary balance potentiometer
Sets the balance of the main output (1-2) between the left and the right channels.

HEADPHONE CONTROLS
1 rotary Monitor Select potentiometer
The Monitor Select potentiometer lets the DJ select the music played on the headphone output, either:
Previewing (the track selected with the Cue Select buttons), or Deck A + Deck B,
Or a mix of the 2 tracks, when the Monitor Select position is between these 2 settings.
2 Cue Select buttons (1 per deck)
Selects the deck the DJ previews on the headphones: Cue Select Deck A or Cue Select Deck B.
1 rotary Headphone volume potentiometer
Sets the volume on the headphone output, whether the headphones are plugged into the top or front panel of the controller.

Replace the computer track played on Deck B with the audio source connected to inputs 3-4 when you push the "Source 2" button. Return to the computer track when you push the "Source 2" button again.
Enabling an external audio source requires adjusting the gain control for the deck in question.

PITCH SETTINGS
6 buttons (3 per deck) in addition to the pitch faders
Pitch Reset (1 button per deck):
Gradually resets the pitch of the music to the original pitch, whatever the pitch fader position.
Beat Lock (1 button per deck)
In VirtualDJ 5 DJC Edition, this button switches the Master Tempo on/off. Master Tempo locks the music to its current tone, allowing the DJ to change the tempo without changing the tone.
Sync (1 button per deck) = Synchronization
Pushing the Sync button on a deck adjusts the speed (BPM) of the music played on the deck to the same speed (BPM) as the music played on the other deck.

PLAY/PAUSE, CUE AND STOP
6 buttons (3 per deck)
Play starts the music playback, pause stops it at its current position in the track.
Cue places a cue point (a marker where playback should start) at the current position in the track.
Stop halts playback and places the cursor at the Cue point.

BACKWARD/FORWARD

Electrix Tweaker

The Tweaker is a performance controller for Abelton users, Traktor users, and music producers and performers of all genres.

At the heart of Tweaker lies a grid of 32 rubber pads backlit by RGB LEDs, and 8 velocity sensitive drum pads. There is a channel strip on each side of the grid, and a crossfader centered underneath. Each channel trips is comprised of a fader, three backlit rubber pads, an analog knob, and three push encoders with red LED rings. The navigation section at the top of the unit has a large browsing encoder and a four-way selection push grid (left, right, up, down).

Tweaker is fully USB bus powered and also has MIDI In and Out ports.

Motorized Pitch Fader
When you’re dealing with software control, sometimes that software can change settings that don’t get passed down to a traditional hardware controller. If you use one SCS.1d to control 4 decks in Traktor, every time you switch decks, all of your controls (including the pitch fader) will move to the correct values for that deck.

Rotary Controls (aka “Super Knobs”)
SCS.1D PanelBeyond basic mixing and control, the SCS.1d makes a radical departure from traditional controllers via four rotary encoders (“virtual knobs”) with LED rings and corresponding LCD “scribble strips.” These fully assignable encoders can be mapped directly into functions in the DJ software while providing visual feedback of knob position, even in low-light settings. Underneath, the LCD scribble strips confirm the software parameter being adjusted by each encoder, without the need to check your laptop. Of course, common assignments for these encoders can be saved as presets for fast recall.
