The MINIAK is a powerful performance and production synthesizer. The MINIAK empowers creative musicians with phrase and step sequencing, a built-in drum machine/rhythm sequencer, an arpeggiator, a 40-band vocoder, stereo effects, and a virtual analog synth engine developed in partnership with the world-class Alesis synth team. While the compact, portable synth shines on stage, the MINIAK is also at home in the production studio delivering 24-bit audio resolution.
The MINIAK puts up to eight multi-timbral voices at your fingertips, each with three oscillators. You can create interesting and unique sounds and take advantage of the more-than-600 preset sounds and store up to 1,000 programs in the MINIAK. The synth also has two multi-mode filters, three envelope generators, two LFOs, stereo effects, and a 40-band vocoder. On top of all of this sound-melding power, the MINIAK has a comprehensive sequencer with step and dynamic real time phrase sequencing, a drum machine/rhythm sequencer, and an arpeggiator to aid in creating the landscapes and textures you’re after.
Rounding out this complete instrument are high-resolution, 24-bit balanced 1/4" inputs and outputs. The MINIAK has a 37-key semi-weighted keyboard with velocity sensitivity for all-in-one performance. It can also be used as a sound source for MPCs, computer software, and keyboards via MIDI.
UNDER THE HOOD A MINIAK program is a sound built from the MINIAK’s internal oscillators, filters, and envelope generators. The MINIAK’s more than 600 preset programs span the range of classic analog synthesis sounds. If you’ve heard it before, you will probably find it in the MINIAK’s presets.
In a synth, oscillators generate raw sound. Their output is fed into the filters, whose output is fed into the amplifiers. As the signal moves along that path, you can manipulate the mix at several points and apply modulations, envelopes, and effects to create a custom palette of sounds.
SOUND GENERATION The oscillators can produce different waveform types and shapes to create various harmonic structures, which our ears perceive as different timbres. Here are some of the waveforms you can create with the MINIAK’s oscillators:
Sine – Smooth, pure sound Triangle – Fuller than a sine wave Sawtooth – Harsh sonic character Pulse – Harmonically rich, ranging from full-sounding square wave to a sharp impulse wave
The MINIAK’s oscillators can produce continuously variable waveforms, so it can can hit any point between these examples.
You can connect external audio sources – other synthesizers, mixers, guitars, and more – using the 1/4” inputs. The jacks accept either balanced or unbalanced cables. You can mix in the external audio sources with the MINIAK’s oscillators. The resulting combination is then sent through the MINIAK’s filters and effects. A special group of programs including vocoder programs exists just for use with the external inputs.
The outputs of the oscillators, the noise generator, the ring modulator, and the external inputs are fed into a virtual mixing board called the pre-filter mix. From here, the signal hits the filters. For each source, you can specify its level and its balance: how much is sent to Filter 1 and how much is sent to Filter 2.
FILTERING The oscillators produce very raw sounds. To shape and fine-tune the sound, filters give you tools for dampening certain harmonics and boosting others. Filters alter the frequency content of the signal and can have a drastic effect on the sound. Each of the MINIAK’s voices contains two filters, and each filter can be one of the following different types, each with its own character and sonic flavor.
They are: Bypass, Low Pass: ob 2-pole, tb 3-pole, mg 4-pole, rp 4-pole, jp 4-pole, al 8-pole; Band Pass: ob 2-pole, al 6-pole, octave dual, band limit; High Pass: ob 2-pole, op 4-pole; three Vocal Formants, four Comb Filters, Phase Warp, Frequency, Resonance, Key Tracking, Envelope Amount, Offset, and Absolute.
After filtering, the signal is fed to the post-filter mix. For each filter output, as well as a pre-filter signal of your choice, you can specify a level and a pan.
OUTPUT PROCESSING In the output stage, the MINIAK allows you to apply a drive effect and add some compression, distortion, or other amplification effects. The MINIAK allows you to set up twelve modulation routes. Each of these is a virtual connection between some physical or internally generated source and some program parameter. Basically, a mod route tells the synth to automatically grab a knob and tweak it while a note is playing. Although there are quite a few sources that you can use for your mods, the most common ones involve the LFOs and the envelopes.
LFOs LFO stands for low-frequency oscillator. LFOs are not designed to produce sound, but instead to tweak a program parameter according to a looping pattern. For example, if you are looking to add vibrato, you need the pitch to continuously waver up and down. Each of the MINIAK’s voices contains two LFOs, each of which offers rate, depth, shape, and tempo sync. The MINIAK’s LFO can sync to the internal clock or any external source via MIDI.
ENVELOPES If you hit a note on a piano, you hear a burst of sound energy as the hammer strikes the string, followed by lower level of loudness as you hold down the note and let the string ring out, which fades quickly as soon as you release the note and the damper is applied. Synthesizers model this behavior using ADSR Envelopes. ADSR stands for Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release, and represents the different stages that the sound goes through over the life of the note. The MINIAK also has an envelope that is specifically designed for loudness, called the Amp Envelope. Envelopes are useful in all sorts of mod routes, which is why you can hook up any of the MINIAK’s envelopes to any modulatable program parameter. Each of the MINIAK’s voices contains three envelopes: Amp Envelope, Filter Envelope, and Pitch/Modulation Envelope.
SEQUENCING The MINIAK has extensive sequencing and arpeggiation performance capabilities. Arpeggios and sequences both respond to a key-press by playing a series of notes over a programmed rhythmic pattern. An arpeggio loops over whatever notes you are holding down on the keyboard. If you hold down a chord, the MINIAK will generate a melody by playing each note of your chord individually. A sequence has a melody line built in so you can hold down a single key and the MINIAK will play back that melody relative to that key. Pressing another key will transpose the sequence.
The MINIAK has MPC-style step sequencing and recorder-style dynamic real time phrase sequencing. There’s also a drum machine/rhythm sequencer for the built-in drum sounds.
EFFECTS The MINIAK has a full complement of stereo effects including Chorus, Feedback, Theta Flanger (Phaser + Flanger), Thru Zero Flanger, Super Phaser, Notch Frequency, String Phaser, 40-Band Vocoder, Analysis Gain, Sibilance Boost, Band Shift, Synthesis Input, Analysis Signal In, Analysis Mix, six types of Delay, and three types of Reverbs.
With the extensive sound generating and manipulating power of the MINIAK, the sounds you dream up are as easy to create as twisting a few knobs. And creating complete soundscapes with the sequencer and arpeggiator couldn’t be easier. Step up to the only synth with the Akai Professional name… the MINIAK.

Powerful synthesis The microKORG boasts the same dual-oscillator DSP synthesis engine found in Korg's critically acclaimed MS2000 and offers a wider selection of waveforms than any other modeled synth. Oscillator 1 features a total of 71 waveforms including traditional analog waves like saw, pulse, sine and noise, plus more unique choices like Vox wave and cross wave. Together they provide a cool selection that can be modulated to produce an extensive range of timbres. In addition, 64 exclusive DWGS waveforms from Korg's classic DW-8000 enable the microKORG to reproduce a broad collection of imitative sounds. Sounds like bells, electric pianos, guitars, basses and more that would be difficult reproduce on an analog synthesizer can easily be produced with a synthesizer vocoder such as the microKorg. You can also apply Ring and Sync modulation from Oscillator 2 to create the kind of complex timbres that are the true sign of an advanced synthesizer.
Four filter modes are available, offering -12 dB (2-pole) low pass, high pass and band pass configurations plus an extra steep -24 dB (4-pole) low pass setting. All modes and settings include resonance. Two classic ADSR envelope generators and two MIDI-syncable LFOs provide the power to shape your sounds. Add a Virtual Patch matrix that lets you create advanced modulation settings - routing the Mod Wheel to control filter cutoff or pulse width, using an LFO to control panning or amp level, etc. - and you have performance that is unheard of from a synthesizer vocoder in this price range!
Classic vocoding
The microKORG includes an 8-band synthesizer vocoder with many advanced features. You can capture and "freeze" the formants of your voice, and then play it across the keyboard, or shift the formant frequency to make your voice sound male, female, like a child or just plain wacky! Best of all, the microKORG comes with its own microphone so you can start having fun right away.
A full range of effects
Three types of modulation effects (chorus/flanger, phaser, ensemble), three types of delay effects (stereo, cross, L/R), and a two-band equalizer add the finishing touches to the microKORG. The delays can be synchronized with the arpeggiator or to an external MIDI clock - a great feature for live performances or for laying down tracks. All effects can be edited to create your own, unique sounds.

Meet The Micro! For years, the microKORG has been the world's top-selling music synthesizer. Now, the microKORG XL is ready to join the Korg line-up. Based on the same winning combination of a small footprint, mini-keys, battery-powered portability and huge Korg sound, the microKORG XL is ready to expand your musical vocabulary. The fun factor is huge, too. A gooseneck microphone is included for instant synthesizer vocoder excitement, right out of the box!
Neo-Vintage Music Synth Power The microKORG XL music synthesizer carries a proud pedigree. The MMT (Multi Modeling Technology) sound engine is descended from the RADIAS/R3 synthesizers, while the dual effects processors come down from the famous KAOSS line. The microKORG XL also offers remarkable playability. For example, the black key/white key proportions have been adjusted for easier chording and the key response has been improved for rapid-fire soloing. And the old -school square front keys? Well, they look wicked cool! Together with a sound-bending vocoder and six-pattern arpeggiation, microKORG XL packs a powerful sonic punch.
The eight-voice MMT synth engine in the microKORG XL music synthesizer offers traditional analog waveforms plus a total of seven algorithms, including formant waveforms, noise, and PCM/DWGS waves for those vintage keyboards and strings. Cross-modulation, unison stacking, and VPM (Variable Phase Modulation) let you create sounds that would be impossible for a conventional PCM synthesizer to generate. Sync and ring modulation also make it easy to create complex and powerful sounds. Two multi-mode filters, a drive/waveshaping circuit for distinctively distorted sounds, and EG and LFO for creating time-varying tonal change, all provide plenty of parameters for serious synthesis. Virtual Patching brings it all together.
Seventeen up-to-the-minute effects deliver everything from a traditional chorus all the way to grain shifting. In addition, delay effects can be synchronized to a MIDI clock for "beat-sensitive" situations. You can even process external sounds! The microKORG XL's amazing vocoder adds vocal characteristics to any sound, creating everything from pseudo choirs and talking instruments to vintage Sci-Fi robots. Our unique Formant Hold allows you to freeze the vocal input for continuous vocoder effects. You can also use the Formant Shift function to adjust the level and pan of each of the sixteen bands, greatly altering the tonal character. The distinctive retro-styling of the microKorg XL music synthesizer allows for quick selection of any of the 128 on-board, editable programs. For the diehard synthesists and sound designers, the three performance edit knobs provide for fast and effective editing.. You're also free to select and assign your favorite parameters! Download the free Editing software and manage sounds on your compute.

For years, the PA50 has been the most popular member of the Korg Pa family. Its amazing sound, ease of use, and affordable price point has proved a winning combination. Now, after much demand, the Pa50 has been brought up to date with the Pa50SD. Replacing the old-school floppy drive, the Pa50 instead offers fast and reliable SD data card storage. The use of SD data cards also makes it much more convenient to share and store data on a computer.
As a songwriting station or as a back-up band, you can be sure the Pa50SD’s performance will be truly musical. The Pa50SD combines enhanced sequencing functions, powerful performance features, custom backlit LCD, comprehensive arranging tools and impeccable sound quality.
Excellent Sound and Instant Control Based on the TRITON synth engine the Pa50SD sound quality is second to none! Included with its 660 editable sound programs is a set of very expressive solo instruments, sampled with a natural vibrato. Four studio-quality effect processors are available and feature 89 different effect types. Four assignable pads, an assignable footswitch, the joystick, sync start, fade in and out, tap tempo, accompaniment reset and other front panel functions are available at your fingertips.
Musical Styles Each of the 304 editable Styles provides up to eight accompaniment parts – drums, bass, percussion and more – that respond interactively with your playing. Eight parts, four Variations, two Fills, two Intros and two Endings per Style provide all you need to create a natural-sounding performance. In addition to the eight parts that comprise a Style, up to four sounds are available on the keyboard as real-time parts. The Pa50SD can also store 160 user defined Performance settings, each instantly recalling the style, sounds, effects, panning, transposition and other settings assigned to each part.
Extensive Sequencing In addition to traditional real-time and step-time sequencing, the Pa50SD also features our unique Backing Sequencer, which can capture up to eight tracks of Style accompaniment and up to eight tracks of real time playing in a single pass. The PA50SD is GM and SMF compatible and in performance, nothing beats the revolutionary XDS Dual Sequencer. Lyrics embedded in SMF sequences are shown in the Display.
Rich, Stereo Sound The Pa50SD features two dual-cone speakers in a reflex cabinet and twin 15 Watt amplifiers.

The "Baby Blue" - The Professional Arranger at an entry level price For the musician, composer, performer and entertainer, the interactive Pa500 arranger keyboard is the perfect musical partner. Like its big brothers - the Pa800 and the Pa2X Pro - the Pa500 uses our RX (Real eXperience) technology to deliver a sound unprecedented in an ordinary arranger keyboard. With exclusive Korg features such as the XDS Dual Sequencer, intuitive TouchView interface, quarter-tone on-the-fly and a four way joystick for realistic articulation, the only thing really missing is a big price tag.
Stunning Sound in a Sensational Professional Arranger Keyboard It all begins with sound. Based on the EDS (Extended Definition Synthesis) engine found in the Korg M3, Pa800 and Pa2XPro, the Pa500 provides 80 voices of polyphony and an awe-inspiring quality of sound. Over 880 fully editable sounds are preloaded (including a full GM soundset and 56 drum kits), representing a full range of musical instruments from almost every genre - each exploding with depth, nuance, subtlety, accuracy and richness. The User area has space for up to 128 user sounds and 64 drum kits.
Listento demos of the Pa500's amazing sounds.
Effects Everywhere For many years, Korg music workstations, synthesizers and digital recording studios have included outstanding studio quality effects that are simply spectacular. In that same tradition, the Korg Pa500 accompaniment keyboard offers four stereo processors plus a Final semi-parametric, three-band EQ containing a treasure trove of effects, from rich reverbs and dazzling delays to guitar-type modeling effects from Korg's renowned REMS series - 124 different effects in all. And you'll appreciate the separate three-band EQ on each track so you can shape the tone for that perfect sound.
A Professional Arranger Done with Style No doubt about it: Korg's Style programming is world class. The Pa500 delivers a deluxe set of styles, programmed by some of the leading arrangers in the world; each of whom worked according to their musical strengths. The result is over 320 preloaded Styles that provide unparalleled realism and detail, adding anything from tasteful guitar picking, a tight bass and drum groove, a powerhouse R & B rhythm section and all the way up to a full orchestra! Styles follow your timing, voice leading and chord changes to create an amazingly defined musical performance in real-time. With up to eight parts, four variations, three intros/count-in, three fills/break and three endings, each Style is a complete musical environment. Additional parts or "riffs" can be sequenced and triggered in real time using the assignable Pads. Advanced features such as Syncro Start/Stop, Fade In/Out, Assignable Pads, Tap Tempo and Manual Bass allow you to spontaneously add complex and professional touches to your performances.
Guitar mode Creating convincing guitar parts from a keyboard has never been easy - until now! When creating a guitar part for your Style, you can chose a chord, capo position, and literally transform the keyboard into the fretted strings of the chord to allow realistic picking patterns, strums, chokes, slides, hammer-ons and other "guitar-specific" artifacts. The result is stunning. Best of all, the Pa500 home keyboard can automatically enhance the guitar tracks of existing Standard Midi Files.
All together now Need to switch sounds fast? Four STS (Single Touch Settings) buttons allow you to have up to four sounds split and layered across the keyboard and switch them all instantly with a single button press. The STS assignments can also be saved independently for each Style. Each of the 256 Performance settings can instantly recall the Style, Sounds, effects, tempo, key and scale used to perform a particular song.
Creative sequencing scenarios In addition to traditional "track at a time" workstation sequencing, the Backing Sequencer of this interactive keyboard allows you to create songs quickly and easily by capturing multiple Style driven parts at once. You don't need to be a master programmer - even beginners can write their own songs in minutes. In fact, you don't even need to play at all! Using the Step Edit/Entry feature, you can simply type in the chord changes, fills and style changes in step-time - a big boost for arrangers and non-keyboardists. This quick approach to programming is also useful in the studio for creating professional, great-sounding backing music for commercial, film, video, multimedia or internet applications. The sequencer provides massive editing power - you can even edit the tone parameters of each track.
Non-stop entertainment With Korg's XDS Dual Sequencer, one can load as the other plays, and a DJ-style cross fader can blend between them, providing a seamless, continuous musical performance. The Pa500 arranger keyboard can also playback SMF (Standard Midi Files), Karaoke files, and GM (General MIDI) files - and is able to display lyrics in most popular karaoke formats. There is also a practical Marker function to allow you to jump directly to a given position in the song: you can fix the markers using the internal sequencer (or using a computer based one - the marker format is standard) and then remix your favorite songs during a live performance for added spontaneity.
Korg's Expanding SongBook Feature The exciting SongBook feature was developed to make your life easier while playing live. The SongBook is a Musical Database, completely user programmable, containing all the settings needed to play a particular song. You have only to search for the song you would like to play by Song Title, Genre, Artist, Tempo, etc. and press "play". Each SongBook entry will instantly recall every setting you've saved in order to play that song perfectly - Sounds, Style, Performance, Volumes, Muted Tracks, FX settings, Easy Edit, STS settings, Master Transpose and more. This indispensable musical feature is unique to Korg.
Less is more With all the technological power packed inside, it was vital that we also made the Pa500 arranger keyboard easy to understand and easy to use. But we went even further, creating an instrument that provides an intuitive, musical, fast, foolproof experience. With our amazing TouchView display you can simply think, see and touch the panel for easy and intuitive control. So that musicians of all levels can make great music quickly, there are two interface modes: Easy and Expert. Easy mode shows only the essential elements with bright, bold icons - useful for beginners or playing live - while Expert mode provides full editing control. And when you need more information, check out the on-board contextual Help System - in any of seven languages! In addition to 61-velocity sensing keys, the Pa500 arranger keyboard provides a four-way joystick, assignable switch, assignable slider, assignable pedal jack and four pads provide the tools to spice up your performance by changing effect settings, adding or muting parts, slowing the tempo, or even adding "mini-sequenced" solo, arpeggio, or backing riffs. Nothing stands between you and your professional performance.
Save it for later In addition to providing a USB/MIDI computer connection for moving and saving data, the Pa500 can also save and read data from SD / MMC memory cards for instant access to your custom data, MIDI files and songs. The back panel also features MIDI (In, Out), Audio Ins (1, 2) and Outs (L, R), headphone jack, plus a damper pedal and an assignable pedal connection.
All-in-one Hiding inside is a full stereo sound system with two double cone speakers in a bass reflex enclosure for the best sound in a small box. The Pa500 is completely self-contained and easily transportable - whether rushing to perform live in front of any size audience, jamming with friends, or teaching a new tune to the other players. We couldn't fit any more fun in here if we tried.

The Korg M50-61 takes much of the M3's sonic power and packs it into a lightweight, affordable music workstation! Whether you seek natural-sounding acoustic instruments or hard-hitting synthesizer sounds, Korg's M50-61 puts a sonic world beneath your fingertips. You can easily navigate between sounds and tweak its generous effects section using the Korg M50-61's intuitive and interactive touchscreen and four multi-function knobs. Available in 61- and 73-key semi-weightrd Natural Touch keyboard styles and as a full, 88-key RH3 Graded Hammer Action keyboard, take the best of Korg - to go - with the killer Korg M50. And with standalone/plug-in software to edit everything and create your own presets, you've got a lot of sonic flexibility with the Korg M50-61!
When you want sounds, the Korg M50-61 is brimming with them. It has over 600 individual sound programs all tweaked up to Korg standards, and a robust 256MB of sample data. From rich, natural acoustic instrument articulations to lush or aggressive synth sounds, it's all in the Korg M50-61. Though, first and foremost, the Korg M50-61 is a stellar keyboard and piano instrument. It boasts three layers of stereo switching and an additional resonance layer for excellent piano dynamic range reproduction. Onboard are the popular Korg SG-1 Sample Grand, premium electric pianos and clavs, and even striking string and flute sounds. Plus, the M50-61 is loaded with Korg's REMS cabinet/amp/pickup technology and ToneAdjust lets you tweak each sound to your own ear's delight.
So, you've got intense sonic power, thanks to the 600 sound programs — but, as always, Korg couldn't leave it at that. To multiply the breadth of your creativity exponentially, you can stack, split, layer and zone up to 16 sound programs across the keyboard or to individual MIDI channels. And nearly 400 "combis" come preloaded, so you have great-sounding setups for live performance from the get-go. All presets are fully editable, and with 512 spaces for saved combinations onboard, you've got a ton of room to develop and modify your own signature sounds.
Beyond that, the Korg M50-61 certainly doesn't let down when it comes to effects — this puppy's packed with over 170 top-quality effects, including Korg's proprietary REMS modeling effects. You can assign and route five insert effects and two master effects simultaneously. Offering up everything from lush reverb to warping modulation effects, the Korg M50-61 lets you take each sound into another dimension or fatten it up to achieve the right tone. Plus, D-Mod, or Dynamic Modulation, even lets you control various parameter effects on the fly and you can sync effect parameters to the two common LFOs, or a MIDI clock source, for further effects integration. What more, each effects program is equipped with its own 3-band EQ, for sculpting and refining your tone.
So with this vast landscape of sounds and effects, how do you navigate through all of them? Well, thanks to the Korg M50-61's intuitive TouchView screen, finding, selecting, and tweaking sounds is a snap. The screen is backlit, so you're set to go for playing even the most dimly lit gigs. And while you can tweak away at in-depth functions and parameters using the touch-screen the Korg M50-61's also loaded with real-time buttons and controls, so you can have your way with various functions on the fly. The four knobs can control functions such as gate, velocity, length, and octave, for really shaking up your sound as you go, but you can also set them to control whatever parameters you want to get your hands on. Then, go ahead and get crazy-creative using the four onboard chord trigger buttons. Just lay a chord and quickly assign it to one of the buttons, then press the button to hear it played back — exactly as you stored it.
Korg also injected the M50-61 with over 1,600 drum and percussion samples that you can personalize into full-on drum kit programs. There are 32 drum kits onboard already and space to manhandle up to 48 more of your own. And the Korg M50-61 even has 670 onboard drum grooves for jamming along with or jump-starting your own creativity into a new song. Each of the Korg M50-61's individual sound programs has a matching drum track pre-assigned, for grooving straight out of the box and into creative bliss.
It wouldn't be a Korg without serious attention to arpeggiators — after all, Korg's been on the forefront of arpeggiator technology since the 1980s. Following its long lineage, the Korg M50-61 gives you all the standard up-down and random arpeggiation patterns you'd expect, but the dual polyphonic arpeggiators also deliver killer chords, bass lines, picking patterns, and accents, for really turning up the heat. When you're in the sequencer or combination modes, both of the arpeggiators can run at the same time, each addressing different timbres. Make one kick out killer drum grooves while the other walks around with fat bass patterns — the Korg M50-61 even lets you use velocity to switch between patterns on the same sound.
And wherever you are with your M50-61, you're only a button-press away from stepping into full-on record mode. This Korg offers up a 16-track onboard sequencer, and can handle an impressive 200,000 notes on 16 MIDI tracks and up to 128 songs. Plus, its enhanced 480 ppq resolution ensures your performance is captured accurately, however you input notes. Easy onboard editing features let you take your song from a quick creative sketch to a fully realized production. And when creativity strikes, you can quickly capitalize using the Korg M50-61's Song Templates. Spanning virtually every musical genre, each template gives you the right kinds of sounds and effects already selected and routed for you — just start playing in the parts and you're on your way. Korg also gave the M50-61 the unique RPPR Real-time Pattern Play/Recording function, so you can call up any onboard drum pattern and assign out patterns and phrases to individual keys — you can even loop each track to quickly build up the perfect groove before you stack it with sounds. An onboard Cue List function also makes it easy to try different arrangements on for size without committing to any hard-to-undo changes. And Auto Song Setup is a one-touch record feature that puts all the settings you've got setup straight into a new song, then starts up the sequencer.
The Korg M50-61 and your computer make the perfect team, as the M50-61 includes both standalone and plug-in sound editing software, so you can easily get into your M50-61 and tweak parameters. Just connect up the M50-61 via USB and load up the standalone software or your favorite DAW — the plug-in supports AU, VST, and RTAS formats. Your edits and changes live as a part of the song file, and you don't have to switch applications just to tweak a sound. Beyond USB connectivity, your M50-61 also uses SD cards for reliable data storage.
Despite the massive amount of sounds, effects, performance controls, and general music possibilities loaded into the M50-61, Korg managed to keep this sonic beast ultra lightweight. This 61-key version weighs under 15 lbs. — less than a full backpack! You've got to get your hands on one of these.

Twenty-five years ago, Korg introduced the first interactive keyboard - the SAS 20. In the years that followed, the i-Series, iS-Series and the Pa Series have defined the interactive workstation category and set the standard for excellence. Every day, tens of thousands of musicians worldwide make a Korg Pa arranger keyboard their musical partner. The combination of breath-taking sound quality, professional features and musical versatility - teamed with our powerful Style engine - provides the perfect instrument to satisfy all of your musical ambitions.
Baby Blue" - The Professional Arranger Keyboard At An Entry Level Price
For the musician, composer, performer and entertainer, the interactive Pa500 arranger keyboard is the perfect musical partner. Like its big brothers - the Pa800 and the Pa2XPro - the Pa500 accompaniment keyboard uses our RX (Real eXperience) technology to deliver a sound unprecedented in an average arranger keyboard. In addition, the Korg Pa500 combines hundreds of stunning sounds enhanced by our industry leading FX processors and is driven by some of the most sophisticated and realistic music Styles ever created. With exclusive Korg features such as the XDS Dual Sequencer, intuitive TouchView interface, and a four-way joystick for realistic articulation, the only thing really missing is a big asking price.
THE Pa500 Oriental Music is the Universal Language
True enough, but it helps to know the local dialects. To that end, Korg has created the Pa500 Oriental (Pa500 ORT), our first totally dedicated and specialized PA instrument designed for - and by - Middle Eastern musicians. The Pa500 Oriental includes everything from the standard Pa500 - and more! In creating the Pa500 Oriental home keyboard, Korg drew inspiration from the thousands of musicians in the Middle East who already use Korg Pa products. Produced by a team of the best musicians from various countries in the Middle East, the Pa500 Oriental features a complete range of freshly produced instruments and Styles showcasing the sounds that make Middle Eastern music so energetic and exciting, so seductive and enchanting. These new sounds and Styles are provided in addition to all the sounds, Styles, FX and other features of the standard Pa500.
"In-Demand" Middle Eastern Features of this Arranger Keyboard
Quarter Tone Sub Scale: Surely one of the most significant features of the Pa500 Oriental is the addition of the Quarter Tone Sub Scale keyboard. A miniature keyboard has been added to the front panel; and each key is equipped with an LED indicator. This allows the user to quickly select the notes that will be flatted to the nearest Quarter Tone. This function is always available, so that the Quarter Tone selection can be made quickly and on the fly during performance. In addition, four preset buttons provide one-touch access to the most commonly used Quarter Tone scales.
Joystick: Many of the keyboard players in the Middle East have told us that they prefer using the famous Korg joystick for pitch bend and modulation, rather than using wheels. The Pa500 Oriental joystick can be used to create different scales in real time, in addition to providing the normal pitch and modulation controls!
Sounds: There are 104 new instruments used in traditional classical music: Kanon, Nay, Ud, Kawala, Arabic Strings as well as a special Orchestra sound with 11 Oscillators, Arabic strings (Legato and Staccato), Stereo Strings Ensemble, Kanon Tremolo, Ud Tremolo, Timpani, Orchestra Crash, and French Horn Ensemble. For folk music, we've added instruments such as Mejwez, Mezwed, Yargohol, Zukra, Chubebe, Zurna, and 10 different Chabi sounds. The Pa500 Oriental also provides 805 dedicated drum samples featuring important instruments such as Tabla, Req, Daf, Bandir, Tabel, Katem, Kasur, and Khishabah. And for a final touch of authenticity, there are rich Voices such as Halla, Yalla, Hey, Zagruta and more.
Styles: There are dozens of especially composed music Styles available immediately in the Pa500 Oriental! For each Style, the user can access 6 different intros and 6 different endings; each playing in a different Arabic scale. The Pa500 Oriental also provides 128 Oriental PAD Sequences. These PADS are compatible with the Arabic Scales. Also included in the new Styles are Classical Music Styles such as: Wahda, Maksum, Baladi, Ayoub, Masmudi, Samai 10/8 and Folk Music Styles such as; Saidi, Katakofti, Nawari, Fallhi, Laf - and many more. The Pa500 ORT arranger keyboard also includes special regional Styles:
Khaligi; Khaligi Rumba, Khbeaty, Bandary, Dosary, Shaby and more.
Stunning Sound
It all begins with sound. Based on the EDS (Extended Definition Synthesis) engine found in the Korg M3, M50, Pa800 and Pa2X Pro, the Pa500 Oriental provides 80 voices of polyphony and an incredible quality of sound. Over 1,024 fully editable sounds are preloaded (including a full GM soundset and nearly 100 drum kits), representing a full range of musical instruments from almost every genre - each exploding with depth, nuance, subtlety, accuracy and richness. This includes all of the additional Middle Eastern sounds unique to the Pa500 Oriental.
Effects Everywhere
For many years, Korg workstations, synthesizers and digital recording studios have included outstanding studio quality effects that are simply spectacular. In that same tradition, the Pa500 Oriental offers four stereo processors plus a Final semi-parametric three band EQ containing a treasure trove of effects, from rich reverbs and dazzling delays to guitar-type modeling effects from Korg's renowned REMS series - 124 different effects in all. And you'll appreciate the separate three-band EQ on each track so you can shape the tone for that perfect sound.
Done With Style
No doubt about it: Korg's Style programming is world class. The Pa500 Oriental arranger keyboard delivers a deluxe set of Styles, programmed by some of the leading arrangers in the world; each of whom worked according to their musical strengths. With the addition to the Middle Eastern Styles, the Korg Pa500 Oriental contains over 300 preloaded Styles that provide unparalleled realism and detail, adding anything from tasteful guitar picking, a tight bass and drum groove, a powerhouse R & B rhythm section all the way up to a full orchestra!
Guitar Mode
Creating convincing guitar parts from a keyboard has never been easy - until now! When creating a guitar part for your Style, you can chose a chord, capo position, and literally transform the keyboard into the fretted strings of the chord to allow realistic picking patterns, strums, chokes, slides, hammer-ons and other "guitar-specific" artifacts. The result is stunning! Best of all, the Pa500 Oriental can automatically enhance the guitar tracks of existing Standard Midi Files.
All Together Now
Need to switch sounds fast? Four STS (Single Touch Settings) buttons allow you to have up to four sounds split and layered across the keyboard and switch them all instantly with a single button press. The STS assignments can be saved independently for each Style. Each of the 256 Performance settings can instantly recall the Style, Sounds, effects, tempo, key and scale used to perform a particular song.
Creative Sequencing Scenarios
In addition to traditional "track at a time" workstation sequencing, the Backing Sequencer allows you to create songs quickly and easily by capturing multiple Style driven parts at once. You don't need to be a master programmer - even beginners can write their own song in minutes.
Non-Stop Entertainment
With Korg's XDS Dual Sequencer, one can load as the other plays, and a DJ-style cross fader can blend between them, providing a seamless, continuous musical performance. The Pa500 Oriental can playback SMF (Standard Midi Files), Karaoke files, and GM (General MIDI) files - and is able to display lyrics in most popular karaoke formats. There is also a practical Marker function to allow you to jump directly to a given position in the song: you can fix the markers using the internal sequencer (or using a computer based one - the marker format is standard) and then remix your favorite songs during a live performance for added spontaneity.
Expanding SongBook
The exciting SongBook feature was developed to make your life easier while playing live. The SongBook is a Musical Database, completely user programmable, containing all the settings needed to play a particular song. You have only to search for the song you would like to play by Song Title, Genre, Artist, Tempo, or other music category and press "play".
Less Is More
With all the technological power packed inside this professional arranger, it was vital that we also made the Pa500 Oriental easy to understand and easy to use. But we went even further, creating an instrument that provides an intuitive, musical, fast and foolproof experience. In addition to 61-velocity sensing keys, the Pa500 Oriental provides a four-way joystick, assignable switch, assignable slider, assignable pedal jack and four pads which provide the tools to spice up your performance by changing effect settings, adding or muting parts, slowing the tempo, or even adding "mini-sequenced" solo, arpeggio, or backing riffs. Nothing stands between you and your professional performance!
Save It For Later
In addition to providing a USB/MIDI computer connection for moving and saving data, the Pa500 Oriental can also save and read data from SD / MMC memory cards for instant access to your custom data, MIDI files and songs. The back panel also features MIDI (In, Out), Audio Ins (1, 2) and Outs (L, R), headphone jack, plus a damper pedal and an assignable pedal connection.
All-In-One
Hiding inside is a full stereo sound system with two double cone speakers in a bass reflex enclosure, providing the best sound in a small box. The Pa500 Oriental is completely self-contained and easily transportable - perfect rushing to perform live in front of any size audience, jamming with friends, or teaching a new tune to other players. We couldn't fit any more fun in here if we tried!

Over 600 individual sound programs When you want sounds, the Korg M50 is brimming with them. It has over 600 individual sound programs all tweaked up to Korg standards, and a robust 256MB of sample data. From rich, natural acoustic instrument articulations to lush or aggressive synth sounds, it's all in the Korg M50. Though, first and foremost, the Korg M50 is a stellar keyboard and piano instrument. It boasts three layers of stereo switching and an additional resonance layer for excellent piano dynamic range reproduction. Onboard are the popular Korg SG-1 Sample Grand, premium electric pianos and clavs, and even striking string and flute sounds. Plus, the M50 is loaded with Korg's REMS cabinet/amp/pickup technology and ToneAdjust lets you tweak each sound to your own ear's delight.
Stack, split, layer, and zone up to 16 sound programs So, you've got intense sonic power, thanks to the 600 sound programs - but, as always, Korg couldn't leave it at that.
Superb effects The Korg M50 certainly doesn't let down when it comes to effects - this puppy's packed with over 170 top-quality effects, including Korg's proprietary REMS modeling effects. You can assign and route five insert effects and two master effects simultaneously. Offering up everything from lush reverb to warping modulation effects, the Korg M50 lets you take each sound into another dimension or fatten it up to achieve the right tone.
Touchscreen, joystick, and multi-function knobs and buttons Find, select, and tweak the vast landscape of sounds and effects on the Korg M50, thanks to the intuitive TouchView screen. The screen is backlit, so you're set to go for playing even the most dimly lit gigs. And while you can tweak away at in-depth functions and parameters using the touch-screen the Korg M50's also loaded with real-time buttons and controls, so you can have your way with various functions on the fly. The four knobs can control functions such as gate, velocity, length, and octave, for really shaking up your sound as you go, but you can also set them to control whatever parameters you want to get your hands on. Then, go ahead and get crazy-creative using the four onboard chord trigger buttons. Just lay a chord and quickly assign it to one of the buttons, then press the button to hear it played back - exactly as you stored it.
Drum samples, kits, and grooves Korg injected the M50 with over 1,600 drum and percussion samples that you can personalize into full-on drum kit programs. There are 32 drum kits onboard already and space to manhandle up to 48 more of your own. And the Korg M50 even has 670 onboard drum grooves for jamming along with or jump-starting your own creativity into a new song. Each of the Korg M50's individual sound programs has a matching drum track pre-assigned, for grooving straight out of the box and into creative bliss.
Korg-wicked arpeggiators It wouldn't be a Korg without serious attention to arpeggiators - after all, Korg's been on the forefront of arpeggiator technology since the 1980s. Following its long lineage, the Korg M50 gives you all the standard up-down and random arpeggiation patterns you'd expect, but the dual polyphonic arpeggiators also deliver killer chords, bass lines, picking patterns, and accents, for really turning up the heat. When you're in the sequencer or combination modes, both of the arpeggiators can run at the same time, each addressing different timbres. Make one kick out killer drum grooves while the other walks around with fat bass patterns - the Korg M50 even lets you use velocity to switch between patterns on the same sound.
16-track sequencer plus song templates Wherever you are with your M50, you're only a button-press away from stepping into full-on record mode. This Korg offers up a 16-track onboard sequencer, and can handle an impressive 200,000 notes on 16 MIDI tracks and up to 128 songs. Plus, its enhanced 480 ppq resolution ensures your performance is capture daccurately, however you input notes. Easy onboard editing features let you take your song from a quick creative sketch to a fully realized production. And when creativity strikes, you can quickly capitalize using the Korg M50's Song Templates. Spanning virtually every musical genre, each template gives you the right kinds of sounds and effects already selected and routed for you - just start playing in the parts and you're on your way. Korg also gave the M50 the unique RPPR Real-time Pattern Play/Recording function, so you can call up any onboard drum pattern and assign out patterns and phrases to individual keys - you can even loop each track to quickly build up the perfect groove before you stack it with sounds. An onboard Cue List function also makes it easy to try different arrangements on for size without committing to any hard-to-undo changes. And Auto Song Setup is a one-touch record feature that puts all the settings you've got setup straight into a new song, then starts up the sequencer.
Enhanced Definition Synthesis, borrowed from the M3 The EDS or Enhanced Definition Synthesis is Korg's most advanced hardware engine - ever. And it's at the heart of the Korg M50. Each voice has two stereo oscillators, two amp sections, four filters, five Low Frequency Oscillators, and five time-variant Envelope Generators. Every stereo oscillator can achieve 4-way velocity switching, crossfading, or layering. Each voice also has access to multi-mode (highpass, bandpass, band reject, and lowpass filters), two filters per oscillator running side by side, stacked, or in series.
Seamless computer integration - RTAS, VST, AU plug-in The Korg M50 and your computer make the perfect team, as the M50 includes both standalone and plug-in sound editing software, so you can easily get into your M50 and tweak parameters. Just connect up the M50 via USB and load up the standalone software or your favorite DAW - the plug-in supports AU, VST, and RTAS formats. Your edits and changes live as a part of the song file, and you don't have to switch applications just to tweak a sound. Beyond USB connectivity, your M50 also uses SD cards for reliable data storage.
Lightweight for the gigging musician Despite the massive amount of sounds, effects, performance controls, and general music possibilities loaded into the M50, Korg managed to keep this sonic beast ultra lightweight. The 61-key version weighs under 15 lbs. - less than a full backpack! - and the 73-key version is just 17.9 lbs. Because the 88-key features a premium Korg RH3 Graded Hammer Action keyboard it weighs a bit more - but at under 46 lbs. the 88-key M50 is a pleasure to bring to the gig compared to most large-scale, 88-key workstations.
Upcoming KARMA support via KARMA lab software Given the Korg M50's tremendous feature-set and insanely awesome price tag, Korg's given serious musicians even more reason to invest in this portable wonder: KARMA software is on its way to the M50. The same technology found on Korg's flagship OASYS and M3 workstations, KARMA allows for incredible, expressive control over effects, instrument nuances, so you can make the most out of your real-time performances. KARMA opens up the doors for a heightened realm of creativity and expression - and it's well on its way to the M50.

Four models available The M3 music workstation/sampler is available as a lineup of four models: 61-key, 73-key, and weighted 88-key models, as well as the module-only M3-M. The 61-key and 73-key models use a proprietary new semi-weighted synth action keyboard developed by Korg for great playing feel and expressive aftertouch response. The 88-key model features the RH3 (Real Weighted Hammer Action 3) keyboard that reproduces the playing sensation of a grand piano, in which the low range has a heavier feel, with the touch becoming lighter as you play upward on the keyboard, allowing superb response to fine movements of your fingers.
Enhanced Definition Synthesis: A new horizon of sound-making potential The M3 features a newly developed "EDS" sound generating system based on a new chip design that was developed in parallel with the HD-1 engine from the flagship OASYS. It takes full advantage of the M3's 256 Mbytes of PCM source material which is a veritable "best of" from the OASYS.
Using Korg's advanced voicing technology, the 1,028 multisamples, 1,606 drum samples, dual oscillators, four-level velocity switching/crossfading/layering, and stereo sampling allow for an enormous range of high-quality, detailed, and expressive sounds. The filter section, a vital part of the sound-creation process, lets you simultaneously use two resonant filters for each oscillator, and can be configured in series or parallel. Four filter types are provided: low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-reject.
The amp section features a driver circuit that gives the sound a sense of edge and character, along with low boost to help shake the walls when needed. Integrated 3-band EQ allows tonal sculpting without needing to go to the effects section. Detailed envelope generators, abundant modulation routings, plus the all-new AMS Mixers for advanced processing all combine to provide a level of sound shaping far beyond previous possibilities.
Effects The all-important effect section provides up to five Insert effects, two Master effects, and one Total effect. In addition to great choruses, flangers, phasers, delays and reverbs, the 170 effect types include dynamic processing effects such as compressor and limiter, amp modeling and speaker simulation effects using Korg's proprietary "REMS" modeling technology, and evocative effects like the Grain Shifter and Talking Modulator.
The M3 includes professional features that allow for many cool applications and routings. Dual Common LFOs allow multiple effects to use the same modulation source; an advanced Control Bus provides triggering input from external audio or internal timbres to effects such as compressor/limiters and the vocoder; and the audio inputs can be freely routed to various effect chains and then run to individual outputs allowing the M3 to be used as a 2-in/6-output effects processor.
Expanded Combination Mode Combination Mode is where multiple Programs can be freely assigned as splits and layers across the keyboard, including velocity switching and cross-fading for complex and expressive sounds. Sounds can be delayed either by time or by tempo, even when you release a key, allowing you to create sophisticated rhythmic soundscapes and performance effects. Monophonic sounds can be forced to be polyphonic, or vice-versa, and you can select only one of the oscillators if desired. For the more adventurous musician, each timbre can even use a different scale or tuning!
The M3 allows for sixteen timbres at the same time, including a Drum Track, up to four KARMA Modules, multiple effects and much more. Each timbre has dedicated 3-band EQ for getting the perfect mix, and a powerful Tone Adjust setup for detailed in-context sound shaping.
In addition to providing more sound elements, this means that Combis can be set up and saved as complete 16-part MIDI sequencing templates for use with an external sequencer and computer DAWs.
Great sounds In the end it's always about the sounds, and the M3 doesn't disappoint. Korg's acclaimed international voicing team delivers the goods once again: stunningly realistic imitative sounds, fat synth sounds, imaginative textures, evocative sound effects - it's all here. The M3 comes loaded with 512 Programs, and room for a total of 1,664 user sounds (13 Banks plus GM). All sound locations are fully editable (except GM banks), so you are always free to tweak a sound if needed. Adding in the EXB-RADIAS option delivers 128 powerful MMT synthesis sounds. There are 32 drumkits provided, and room for a total of 144. As for the 16-part Combinations, 384 come preloaded, with room for a total of 1,792 (14 Banks).
All sounds (Programs and Combinations) are organized by Categories and Sub-Categories for easy searching and selection, making it easy to find and organize your sounds.
Second Generation KARMA The second generation KARMA functionality that first appeared on the OASYS and received wide acclaim from artists and users world-wide is fully implemented in the M3. KARMA is the inspiring, real-time music generation system that can help you play everything from natural instrument gestures like intricate finger-picking, strumming and harp glissandos, to complex cascades of notes, dance-riffs, gated and chopping effects and "improvising" drum grooves. KARMA continues to set the standard by which all other arpeggiators, phrase players, and musical effect generators are judged. The inspiration that KARMA offers, coupled with the unheard-of phrase variability is second to none.
Open Sampling The M3's Open Sampling System lets you sample and resample in any mode to produce new remixed combinations of sounds and effects, or to capture full performances "In-Track" within the sequencer. Cutting-edge editing tools include Time Slice, Time Stretch, Crossfade Looping, Rate Change and Normalize.
An easy-to-use Auto-Setup function makes all the right sampling settings for you, with the press of a button. Stock sampling memory is 64 MB, and can be increased to 320 MB by adding the optional EXB-M256 memory expansion board. Samples in Korg native format, AIFF, WAV, Soundfont V2.0 and AKAI (S-1000/3000 with advanced Program parameter conversion) formats can be used, and internal samples can be exported as WAV or AIFF if needed.
Sampling can also be done to attached media, so USB memory sticks and hard drives can be used to extend memory size to resample a complete song as a WAV file to be burned to a USB CD-R/RW as an audio disc, or for moving to a computer for further editing and manipulation. Audio files on the media can even be edited directly to normalize, trim, and perform other essential editing tasks.
Korg Komponent System The M3 music workstation/sampler introduces the new Korg Komponent System, featuring detachable keyboard and sound generator sections. The 61-key model lets you mount a RADIAS-R analog modeling synthesizer instead of the M3-M sound generator, the 73-key model lets you mount the M3-M together with a RADIAS-R analog modeling synthesizer, and the 88-key model supports the combination of M3-M and RADIAS-R or even mounting two M3-M units simultaneously.
Plus, its enhanced 480 ppq resolution ensures your performance is captured accurately, however you input notes. Easy onboard editing features let you take your song from a quick creative sketch to a fully realized production.

Pro Piano Sound and Pa excitement! For the no-compromise pianist who wants to add an extra dimension - or two - to their performance, we are proud to introduce the Pa588 arranger keyboard. Sonically identical to the Pa500, the Pa588 adds our 88-note top-of-the-line RH3 graded hammer piano action, an attractive stand, a half damping pedal, and a more robust speaker system, providing a complete instrument package. To complement this superb piano action, we've also equipped the Pa588 home keyboard with the incredible piano sound of our flagship C-720 Concert Digital Piano. A dedicated "Play Piano" button instantly transforms the Korg Pa588 into a world-class digital piano!
Keys to Please In addition to a satisfying and authentic interactive keyboard, the Korg Pa588 provides a four-way joystick, assignable switch, assignable slider, and an assignable pedal jack. Four pads provide the tools to spice up your performance by changing effect settings, adding or muting parts, slowing the tempo, or even adding "mini-sequenced" solo, arpeggio, or backing riffs. Nothing stands between you and your professional performance!
A Professional Arranger with Real eXperience (RX) Technology It all begins with sound. The Pa588 arranger keyboard allows unparalleled expression and articulation. For example, a single guitar sound may play a harmonic, a mute note, a soft note, a loud note, a pull-off - all determined by simply how hard you strike the key. We've even included the sound of the pick lifting off the string when you release the key. Overblown and triple-tongued flutes, brass slides and falls - all of the facets that provide an instrument with its own identity are preserved and easily replicated during performance by the natural gestures of varying dynamics as you play. With up to 16 oscillators available per note in a single sound, the breadth and range of realism is truly astounding. Based on the same EDS (Extended Definition Synthesis) that powers the popular M3, the Pa588 accompaniment keyboard offers a sound quality like no other. Over 882 fully editable sounds are preloaded, representing a full range of musical instruments from almost every genre - each exploding with depth, nuance, subtlety, accuracy and richness.
Cause and Effects Four internal effect processors allow you to add any of 124 different effects to any and all of the Style instruments and/or the parts you play live (realtime tracks). Developed for our Digital Recording Studios and Pro-level workstation instruments, these effects are all studio-quality and offer full parameter editing. A final semi-parametric EQ allows even more custom control.
The Elements of Style The heart of the Korg Pa588 is the powerful Style engine. A Style is basically a collection of drum grooves, bass lines, and other instrumental parts that can be mixed together, transposed, and used as the building blocks for creating your song. Each of the over 320 Styles is a self-contained song creation environment that includes variations, fill-ins, an introduction and an ending - all themed to a particular musical style and genre. You can chose which parts you want to use, set the mix, select which sound each part will use, edit and re-map drum kits, and assign various effects. Alternatively, you can use each Style as it is, using the settings created by our world-wide team of ace musicians. By constantly analyzing the notes you play on the keyboard for voice leading and chord content, the Pa Style engine is always in tune with your musical performance.
The result is stunning! Best of all, the Pa588 arranger keyboard can automatically enhance the guitar tracks of existing Standard Midi Files.
Creative Sequencing Scenarios In addition to traditional "track at a time" workstation sequencing, the Backing Sequencer allows you to create songs quickly and easily by capturing multiple Style driven parts at once. You don't need to be a master programmer - even beginners can write their own song in minutes. In fact, you don't even need to play at all! Using the Step Edit/Entry feature, you can simply type in the chord changes, fills and style changes in step-time - a big boost for arrangers and non-keyboardists. Once it's done, you can even try out your finished song as a Latin bossa or a country ballad, making it easy to find the right feel. This quick approach to programming is also useful in the studio for creating professional, great-sounding backing music for commercial, film, video, multimedia or internet applications. The sequencer provides massive editing power - you can even edit the tone parameters of each track.
Non-stop entertainment With Korg's XDS Dual Songplayer, one song can load as the other plays, and a DJ-style cross fader can blend between them, providing a seamless, continuous musical performance. The Pa588 arranger keyboard can playback SMF (Standard Midi Files), Karaoke files, and GM (General MIDI) files - and is able to display lyrics in most popular karaoke formats.
All together now Need to switch sounds fast? STS (Single Touch Setting) buttons allow you to have up to four sounds split and layered across the keyboard and switch them all instantly with a single button press. Four STS assignments can be saved independently for each Style. Each of the 256 Performance settings can instantly recall the Style, Sounds, effects, tempo, key and scale used to perform a particular song.
A Professional Arranger Keyboard with Endless Possibilities Time to add the finishing touches to your compositions? Each of the four Pads can also be assigned to a sound effect, instrument solo / arpeggio, or even one of your own riffs or phrases. Advanced features such as Syncro Start/Stop, Fade In/Out, Tap Tempo, Bass Inversion and Manual Bass allow you to spontaneously add complex and professional touches to your performances.
Expanding SongBook The exciting SongBook feature was developed to make your life easier while playing live or while working on that next big hit. The SongBook is a Musical Database, completely user programmable, containing all the settings needed to play a particular song. You have only to search for the song you would like to play by Song Title, Genre, Artist, Tempo, or other music category and press "play".
Of course you can detach the M3-M sound generator and use it as a sound module, giving you great flexibility for constructing the system you need whenever you want.

The Style engine can fill in for any missing member of your worship team. Add the Video Output option and project MIDI or text lyrics as you perform.
The Real eXperience of Sound
Powered by Korg’s Real eXperience (RX) technology, the Pa800 actually incorporates a number of sophisticated sound technologies. The EDS sound engine is borrowed from Korg’s top of the line M3 and M50 workstations to provide an even richer, more detailed, sophisticated natural sound than ever before, with musical instruments from almost every genre exploding with depth, nuance, subtlety, accuracy and richness. We even used several sounds from OASYS (the most powerful synthesizer ever made) helping the Pa800 set a new standard for arranger keyboards. Plus, we even tossed in a modeled organ with on-screen drawbar control!
The Pa800 offers two assignable switches and a four-way joystick providing versatile real-time control. In addition to the damper pedal, assignable pedal and assignable footswitch inputs, there is also connection for the optional EC-5, which offers five individually assignable footswitches on a single pedalboard so you can keep your hands on the keyboard.
The DNC (Defined Nuance Control) system introduced with OS2 adds the fine control needed to realistically articulate different instruments. For example, a single guitar sound may play a harmonic, a mute note, a soft note, a loud note, a pull-off; we’ve even included the sound of the pick lifting off the string when you release the key. Overblown and triple-tongued flutes, brass slides and falls – all of the facets that provide an instrument with its own identity are preserved and easily replicated during performance by the natural gestures of using the Defined Nuance Control as you play. With up to 16 oscillators available per note in a single sound, the breadth and range of realism is truly astounding. Based on the same EDS that powers the popular M3, the Pa800 offer a sound quality like no other.
The sound memory of the Pa800 has been largely increased to achieve the best sound quality possible boasting all new multi-level samples of the instruments you know and love. Many of these also include also various levels of articulation so the polyphony has been also expanded to 120 notes to cover even busy passages.
There are more than 950 ROM sounds, including a new amazing multilayer stereo acoustic piano accurately sampled from a Concert Grand (and including String and Damper pedal Resonance!), plus an extra 64 drum kits. In addition, the User area contains up to 256 user sounds and 64 drum kits and of course, there is full on board sound editing.
All together now Need to switch sounds fast? STS (Single Touch Setting) buttons allow you to have up to four sounds split and layered across the keyboard and switch them all instantly with a single button press. Four STS assignments can be saved independently for each Style. Each of the Performance settings can instantly recall the Style, Sounds, effects, tempo, key and scale used to perform a particular song.
Sound Expansion Still not enough sounds? Many professional musicians choose to add their own sounds and because the Pa800 is dedicated to professional musicians, you can load Wave, AIFF, Korg format files and of course the incredible Akai sample library - about the largest sample library available - into the standard 64MB of added memory. The Pa800 also features professional editing facilities such as loop, cut, normalize and cropping of samples. A special "Time Slice" feature allows you to slice audio grooves and import the audio data into a Style so you can create some of the coolest rhythms imaginable.
Effects But great sound is more than instruments. For many years, Korg has produced outstanding studio quality effects that are simply breathtaking. The Pa800 has four Stereo Master Effects processors with 125 of these effects, ranging from the standards such as Reverb, Delay and Chorus through to specialized effects such as a fantastic Vocoder and some of the universally acclaimed REMS guitar based effects for authentic guitar tones.
Each Track features EQ with Low, Mid and High controls. A custom track EQ can be memorized in the general preferences for the Song Play mode. This will help shape the sound to your personal taste for any MIDIfile you play. Need a lighter Bass track? Save the right equalization, and the Bass will stay light with all the subsequent Songs. A final semi-parametric EQ, with Low, Mid (with adjustable frequency) and High controls, is added to the sound output of the Pa800. Everything can be processed by this powerful and musically refined EQ, easily adapting the sound to your musical taste or correcting a problematic live context.
The Pa800 includes the world acclaimed TC Helicon Voice Processor as standard equipment, to ensure that the vocal processing and harmonies of the Pa800 were the best possible. The EQ and professional quality effects (Compressor, Reverb, Delay) are designed and shaped specifically for vocals. These effects, combined with the built in 3-part vocal harmonizer and dedicated high quality mic preamp, provide your vocals with the highest possible sound quality. The most important controls to keep your voice under control are located on the panel or available in the display's main page. Simply connect your microphone and start performing!
The Elements of Style The heart of all Korg Pa instruments is their powerful Style engine. A Style is basically a collection of drum grooves, bass lines, and other instrumental parts that can be mixed together, transposed, and used as the building blocks for creating your song. Each Style is a self-contained song creation environment that includes variations, fill-ins, an introduction and an ending - all themed to a particular musical style and genre. You can chose which parts you want to use, set the mix, select which sound each part will use, edit and re-map drumkits, and assign various effects. Or you can use each Style as it is, using the settings created by our world-wide team of ace musicians. By constantly analyzing the notes you play on the keyboard for voice leading and chord content, the Pa Style engine is always in tune with your musical performance. And if you are looking for more pre-written styles, you will be pleased at the exciting future for the Pa800 with many new styles to be produced by both Korg and also independent 3rd party companies.
Guitar Track and Fixed NTT for Styles Guitar Mode allows any musician to easily create realistic guitar parts using real guitar neck positions. Guitar tracks are usually a challenge for every Style and Song writer (possibly even more than the Drums track!). Too often, the guitar tracks entered into MIDI songs are artificial, unmusical playing, often in need of deep editing. The Pa800, however, offers a unique and powerful approach to program and play realistic guitar parts from the keyboard. The Pa800 arranger include also the Fixed NTT, a feature that moves as few notes as possible while creating the style backing tracks, making legato lines and chord changes far more natural for instruments like strings, piano, mute guitar, etc. Another example of our RX Technology at work: Listen - and Believe.
View your Songs as traditional music notation The Score Viewer displays the lead track (or any other track) as clear and plain traditional musical notations with notes or chords, together with lyrics and chord abbreviations. For music learners, we also added a function to show note names next to each note. The Score Viewer automatically adapts the score display to the track's key and clef, with automatic beaming, spacing and bar placement. Triplets and accidentals are automatically recognized. A sophisticated interpretation algorithm cleans up the score display, to allow for easy reading even with rubato (non-quantized) playing.
Creative Sequencing Scenarios In addition to traditional “track at a time” workstation sequencing, the Backing Sequencer allows you to create songs quickly and easily by capturing multiple Style driven parts at once. You don't need to be a master programmer – even beginners can write their own song in minutes. In fact, you don’t even need to play at all! Using the Step Edit/Entry feature, you can simply type in the chord changes, fills and style changes in step-time – a big boost for arrangers and non-keyboardists. Once it’s done, you can even try out your finished song as a Latin bossa or a country ballad, making it easy to find the right feel. This quick approach to programming is also useful in the studio for creating professional, great-sounding backing music for commercial, film, video, multimedia or internet applications. The sequencer provides massive editing power – you can even edit the tone parameters of each track.
Expanding SongBook The exciting SongBook feature was developed to make your life easier while playing live or while working on that next big hit. The SongBook is a Musical Database, completely user programmable, containing all the settings needed to play a particular song. You have only to search for the song you would like to play by Song Title, Genre, Artist, Tempo, etc. and press "play". Each SongBook entry will instantly recall every setting you’ve saved in order to play that song perfectly – Sounds, Style, Performance, Volumes, Muted Tracks, FX settings, Easy Edit, STS settings, Master Transpose and more. This indispensable musical feature is unique to Korg.
Powerful Technology Korg introduced the world's first Arranger keyboard with two separate MIDI file players, and the Pa800 showcases these double sequencer features working at an all new power level. In addition, the Pa800 supports the main musical formats such as SMF (Standard MIDI File), Karaoke files, GM (General MIDI) and MP3 (with the optional "Dual MP3 Expansion Board" installed on the Pa800; standard on the PA800 Elite) and of course is able to display lyrics in most popular karaoke formats. There is also a practical Marker function to allow you to jump directly to a given position in the song: you can fix the markers using the internal sequencer (or using a computer based one - the marker format is standard) and then remix your favorite songs during a live performance for added spontaneity.
Easy to use With all the technological power packed inside, it was vital that we also made the Pa800 easy to understand and easy to use. But even more, we wanted the whole way you use the Pa800 to be an intuitive, musical, fast, foolproof experience. Our graphical user interface uses an amazing Graphical Color Touch Screen so you simply think, point and click for easy and intuitive use - RX Technology at work for you!
With one of the 7 different background colors in the Graphical User Interface, you can be sure the display can be read in all lighting and performing conditions, a truly professional feature
So that musicians of all levels can make great music quickly, there are two interface modes: Easy and Expert.
The Easy mode shows only the most important controls while keeping a clean and straightforward interface, useful for beginners or playing live, while in Expert mode you have full editing control. Nothing stands between you and your professional performance. Switches and sliders are assignable so your live performances work the way you want. And when you need more information, check out the multilingual contextual Help System that is always just a button press away!
Configurable You can configure and edit almost anything in the Pa800. You can modify and save Styles, Performances, Sounds; settings for Sliders, Switches, Pads, Global (MIDI channels, output routings, etc.) and more for both internal and external control. Scales are fully programmable and include quarter tone settings (4 memories for instant recall) and a programmable Arabic Scale. With all of this control, the Pa800 also functions as a superb MIDI controller (Master Keyboard).
Connectivity Naturally, the Pa800 has all the connectivity you need, including 4 separate audio outputs, 2 mic/line inputs with separate gain, 2 USB Host connections and 1 USB (Device) connection. The optional VIF4 graphic video interface (available in PAL or NTSC standard formats) can send lyrics or scores to be displayed on an external TV monitor.
USB The Pa800 has two USB Host connections available to connect standard pen drives, external hard drives, CD-ROM or even a floppy disk. One Host is to connect other USB devices from the front panel for quick access in real time, while the second Host is on the back panel. A further USB Device connection is available for the Pa800 to connect with a PC for fast exchange of large amounts of data or as a MIDI connection without the need for extra MIDI computer interfaces.
Amplification The custom designed amplification system is exceptionally high quality. The 2 x 22 Watt amplifiers drive the 2 tweeters and the 2 x 10" woofers in a bass-reflex box to generate a powerful listening experience. Loudness and Fixed EQ boost the overall volume to deliver a big sound!
Compatibility And if you have been one of the many longstanding Korg Arranger users you will be happy to know that the Pa800 is also compatible with the Korg i-series style format and with all Pa50, Pa500/588, Pa60, Pa80, Pa1X files. This means your Pa50, Pa60, Pa80 and Pa1X Sounds and Styles work in the Pa800 as well so you can keep your favorite sounds and styles while benefiting from a cutting edge keyboard.
Expandable & Updatable Even though it comes with almost every feature you could want, the Pa800 has many useful expansion options:

The perfect instrument to satisfy all of your musical ambitions.
Designed for the serious professional performer, the Pa800 Elite features all the same great capabilities as the original Pa800, and adds an 80 GB internal hard disk and dual MP3 playback/encoding function standard. With these additions you can bring thousands of songs (SMF, MP3) to your gig to play along with or use during breaks, plus you can record your full performance (including vocals) to MP3 to share/sell/enjoy.
In Performance Alone or in a combo setting, the Pa800 offers unprecedented expression and sonic excellence. The Style engine can add anything from a simple backbeat, an extra guitar strumming along, on up to a rollickin' R & B rhythm section to augment and enhance your performance – in real time! And our XDS Crossfade Dual Songplayer guarantees the music never stops.
The Songwriting Station Transform a handful of musical ideas into complete backing tracks in minutes. The key is our dynamic sequencer. Freely switch between Style-driven "Quick Record"; traditional "Track at a time" workstation and "Step Entry/Edit" Modes without losing your data. This flexibility allows you to use all of the Pa composition tools to sculpt your song.
Production Powerhouse The Pa800 is your interactive production music library – without any needle-drop charges or royalty clearance. Need to create fourteen seconds of flamenco dance? Need to fill a twelve second musical cue in a country/western bar? Need a thirty second donut of Brazilian dance music? With hundreds of musical Styles instantly available, your production chores just got easier.
Worship Solutions Nothing puts an instrument to the test like a modern worship service. TC HELICON vocal effects and 3-part harmonies can transform your voice into a mini-choir to lead the congregation with confidence. A full array of sounds are available: grand piano, bells, strings, harps and trumpets along with plenty of solid keyboard sounds – including electric pianos, harpsichord, and that all important drawbar organ! The Style engine can fill in for any missing member of your worship team. Add the Video Output option and project MIDI or text lyrics as you perform.
The Real eXperience of Sound Powered by Korg's Real eXperience (RX) technology, the Pa800 actually incorporates a number of sophisticated sound technologies. The EDS sound engine is borrowed from Korg's top of the line M3 and M50 workstations to provide an even richer, more detailed, sophisticated natural sound than ever before, with musical instruments from almost every genre exploding with depth, nuance, subtlety, accuracy and richness.
Defined Nuance Control The DNC (Defined Nuance Control) system introduced with OS2 adds the fine control needed to realistically articulate different instruments. For example, a single guitar sound may play a harmonic, a mute note, a soft note, a loud note, a pull-off; we've even included the sound of the pick lifting off the string when you release the key.
For the musician, composer, performer and entertainer, the Pa2X Pro arranger keyboard is the perfect musical partner, quickly transforming musical ideas into complete, polished productions. Guided by Korg's Real eXperience (RX) technology, the Pa2X Pro interactive keyboard combines unbeatable sound, state-of-the-art effects, advanced MP3 features, comprehensive sample edit tools, fully realized musical Styles and a sequencer loaded with compositional aids. Brimming with power, the Pa2X Pro employs a slew of assignable controllers and a new motorized, full color TouchView interface, providing an intuitive and musical interface that will encourage your creativity - not stifle it.
An easy to use professional arranger
With all the technological power packed inside, it was vital that we also made the Pa2X Pro easy to understand - and easy to use. But even more, we wanted the whole way you use the Pa2X Pro to be an intuitive, musical, fast, foolproof experience. Our graphical user interface uses an amazing Graphical Colour Touch Screen so you simply think, point and click for easy and intuitive use - RX Technology at work for you! The screen of the Pa2X Pro home keyboard is a motorized tilting display and with the capability to select the right viewing angle, and one of the 7 different background colors in the Graphical User Interface, you can be sure the display can be read in all lighting and performing conditions-a truly professional feature. A manual "clutch" allows you to adjust the motorized display, even with the power off.
So musicians of all levels can make great music quickly, there are two interface modes: Easy and Expert. Easy mode shows only the most important controls while keeping a clean and easy interface, useful for beginners or for live performances, while in Expert mode you have full editing control. Nothing stands between you and your professional performance!
The 2 Switches and 8 Sliders (the 9th acts always as an MP3 Volume control, except for Digital Drawbars) are fully assignable so your live performances work the way you want them to. For one song the Sliders can be Organ Drawbars, controlling the 9 footages of a tone wheel organ; for another volume controls for each part of a backing style or Mic settings.
And when you need more information? Check out the multilingual contextual Help System that is standard on the Pa2X Pro arranger keyboard!
Touch control on sliders, knobs, drawbars and numeric fields
Don't simply watch - touch them! Sliders, knobs and drawbar positions will be changed directly by moving them on the touch screen. The same will happen with numeric fields: touch them, and then push forward to increase the value or pull back to decrease. Touch controls are also valid for changing Tempo, providing for the smoothest accelerando and ritardando ever conceived!
Pro 76 keybed action
The 76-key keybed, designed for the demanding professional as well the expert pianist, has aftertouch and is velocity sensitive. The feel is great, and with natural piano shape keys and the semi-weighted action, nothing stands between your inspiration and the music flow.
A Professional Arranger Keyboard with Stunning Sound
Of course, having power, feeling and ease of use means nothing without great sound and the stunning high quality sound performance of the Pa2X Pro is sure to impress any audience. Based on the EDS (Extended Definition Synthesis) engine found in the Korg M3, the Pa2XPro arranger keyboard provides truly breathtaking sound. The Pa2XPro also borrows the stunning multi-layer piano sound from our flagship C-720 Concert Piano.
Korg sound quality is universally recognized as superior, and is relied on by musicians everywhere. For the Pa2X Pro, we redesigned what was already one of the most powerful synth sound engines available to give you an even richer, more detailed, sophisticated natural sound than ever before with musical instruments from almost every genre, exploding with depth, nuance, subtlety, accuracy and richness. The sound memory of the Pa2X Pro has been largely increased to achieve the best sound quality possible, boasting all new multi level samples of the instruments you know and love. Many of these also include also various levels of articulation so the polyphony has also been expanded to 120 notes to cover even busy passages.
There are more than 950 ROM sounds in the Pa2X Pro accompaniment keyboard, including a new amazing multilayer stereo Acoustic Piano accurately sampled from a Concert Grand (and including String and Damper Pedal resonance!), plus 63 drum kits. In addition, the RAM area contains up to 256 user sounds and 64 drum kits, complete with full on board sound editing.
Sound Expansion
Still not enough sounds? Many professional musicians choose to add their own sounds, and because the Pa2X Pro is dedicated to professional musicians, the full featured internal Sampler can load Wave, AIFF, Korg format files and of course the incredible Akai sample library - about the largest sample library available - into the standard 128MB of added memory (expandable to 256MB).
The Pa2X Pro also features professional editing facilities such as Loop, Cut, Normalize and Crop of samples. A special "Time Slice" feature allows you to slice audio grooves and import the audio data into a Style so you can create some of the coolest rhythms imaginable.
More Sound Expansion - with RX Technology!
When editing SMFs in Sequencer mode, the Pa2X Pro can automatically replace the Guitar sound with a high-quality RX Guitar sound while adding RX Noise to the track. This means that you can transform a flat SMF into an ultra-realistic Song with a real guitar player inside - at the touch of a button!
Effects
But great sound is more than instruments. For many years, Korg has produced outstanding studio quality effects that are simply magnificent. The Pa2X Pro has 4 Stereo Master Effects processors with 125 of these effects from the standards such as Reverb, Delay and Chorus through to specialized effects such as a fantastic Vocoder and some of the universally acclaimed REMS guitar based effects for authentic guitar tones. The TC Helicon vocal effects are separate and controlled completely independent from one another.
Each Track features EQ with Low, Mid and High controls. A custom track EQ can be memorized in the general preferences for the Song Play mode. This will help adapting the sound to personal taste for any MIDI file you play. Need a lighter Bass track? Save the right equalization, and the Bass will stay light with all the subsequent Songs.
A final semi-parametric EQ, with Low, Mid (with adjustable frequency) and High controls, is added to the sound output of the Pa2X Pro. Everything can be processed by this powerful and musically refined EQ, easily adapting the sound to your musical taste or correcting a problematic live context.
TC Helicon inside
To be sure that the vocal processing and harmonies of the Pa2X Pro arranger keyboard are the best possible, we worked with a recognized world leader in audio technology - TC Electronics. The Pa2X Pro includes, as standard, the world acclaimed TC Helicon Voice Processor. This features EQ and professional quality effects like Compressor, Gate, Delay and Reverb, designed and shaped specifically for vocals. These effects, combined with the XLR/Combo balanced connection with switchable Phantom Power to connect even pro-studio condenser Mics, dedicated high quality Mic preamp and built in ultra realistic 3 voice Harmonizer, ensure your vocals have the highest possible sound quality. The most important controls to keep your voice under control are available in the panel, using the user assignable Mic Slider Mode settings, and in the display's main page. Simply connect your microphone and start performing!
Do It With Style
Take a drum groove, add some percussion, toss in a bass pattern and stir in up to five more instruments parts and you have the foundation for a Style. The Style section follows your chord changes and voice leading, enhancing your performance by adding everything from tasteful and authentic guitar picking to a tight drum and bass groove - or even a full-blown R & B rhythm section! The Pa2X Pro arranger keyboard delivers a new set of deluxe styles, including 4 dedicated Pad tracks, programmed by some of the leading arrangers in the world, each of whom worked according to their musical strengths. The result is hundreds of preloaded Styles that provide unparalleled realism and detail. Covering an expanded range of musical genres, the Pa2X Pro gives you styles for just about every important occasion.
Styles can be created from "scratch" or quickly assembled by combining parts from existing Styles. We also add further realism to your performance with Fill 3/Break, Intro 3/Count In and Ending 3 Style Elements. And if you are looking for more pre-written styles, you will be pleased at the exciting future for the Pa2X Pro, filled with new styles by both Korg and also independent 3rd party companies. Keep checking korgpa.com for more details!
Guitar Track and Fixed NTT for Styles
Guitar Mode allows any musician to easily create realistic guitar parts using real guitar neck positions. Guitar tracks are usually a challenge for every Style and Song writer (possibly even more than the Drums track!). Mostly, the results of guitar tracks entered into Styles and MIDI songs are artificial, unmusical playing, often in need of deep editing. The Pa2X Pro, however, offers a unique and powerful approach to program and play realistic guitar performances!
The PaX Pro arranger also includes the Fixed NTT, a feature that moves as few notes as possible while creating the style backing tracks, making legato lines and chord changes far more natural for instruments like strings, piano, mute guitar, etc. That's RX Technology at work: Listen - and Believe.
Powerful Technology
Korg introduced the world's first Arranger keyboard with two separate MIDI file players and Cross-Faders in the legendary Pa80 and our Pa2X Pro showcases these double sequencer features working at an all new power level. In addition, the Pa2X Pro supports the main musical formats such as Standard MIDI File, Karaoke files, General MIDI Level 1 & 2 and of course is able to display lyrics and chords in most popular karaoke formats. Further improving on Korg's XDS Double Sequencer concept, two MP3 files can play at the same time, as in a double DJ turntable or CD player. MP3 files start immediately, and can be freely transposed, accelerated or slowed down as if they were MIDI files. No need for external players or controllers - they are all included and working in a highly integrated environment!
The standard MP3 board also allows for recording your entire performance (including Vocals and Pa2X Pro sounds) in MP3 format: Pa2X Pro is a complete recording studio in your hands. There is also a practical Marker function to allow you to jump directly to a given position in the song: you can fix the markers using the internal sequencer (or using a computer based one - the marker format is standard) and then remix your favorite songs during a live performance for added spontaneity.
Sequencer & Backing Sequence
Along with a powerful and fully programmable multi track sequencer, you can use Backing Sequences to create songs based over styles - quickly and easily. You don't need to be a master programmer - you can write your own song in minutes: even beginners can easily create songs using the step edit feature. This approach is useful for home or studio use when you want to create great sounding songs or professional backing music for films, video, multimedia and internet applications very quickly.
SongBook
This exciting feature was developed to make your life easier, especially while playing live. The SongBook is a Musical Database, completely user programmable, containing all the settings needed to play a particular song. You have only to search the title of the song you would like to play, select it and hit "Play". The SongBook can use Styles, MIDI files, Karaoke and MP3 and immediately recall settings such as Song Title, Genre, Artist, Tempo, Volumes, Sounds, Muted Tracks, FX settings, Easy Edit, 4 STS*, 4 Pads, Master Transpose and more. Everything you need to play your song back perfectly is in the SongBook, a useful musical feature that is unique to Korg - the only Arranger keyboards available with all these sophisticated controls.
(*STS - Single Touch Settings is a memory that recalls sounds for all the real time tracks (upper1, 2, 3 & lower).
Configurable
You can configure and edit almost anything with the Pa2X Pro. You can modify and save Styles, Pad, Performances, Sounds, Songs, SongBook, settings for Sliders, Switches, Pedals, Global MIDI channels, output routings, etc., for both internal and external control.
Scales are fully programmable and include Quarter Tone settings and a programmable Arabic Scale. If you are playing an organ sound, you will enjoy using the 9 Sliders as Drawbars. With all of this control, the Pa2X Pro also functions as a superb MIDI controller (Master Keyboard).
A complete Media edit section is available for files and folders handling including load, save, delete, copy, rename, backup, restore, delete, and other. functions for internal and external USB connected drives. During your extensive editing sessions, the internal clock will fix the correct date and time in your files: another invaluable feature that all Pros will love!
Connectivity
Naturally, the Pa2X Pro has all the connectivity you need including 4 separate balanced/unbalanced analog audio outputs, 2 balanced/unbalanced analog line inputs, 1 XLR/Combo Balanced Mic input with switchable Phantom Power, 1 USB Device and 2 USB Host connections. And because the Pa2X Pro is a fully professional product, the digital output (in S/P DIF coaxial format) is standard. The optional VIF4 Graphical Video Interface (available in PAL or NTSC standard formats) can display on an external TV monitor either just the lyrics (useful for Karaoke) or clone the on board display.
USB
The Pa2X Pro has two USB Host connections available to connect standard Pen drives, external hard drives, DVD-CD players or even a Floppy Disk. One Host is located in the front panel for quick access in real time, while the second Host is on the back panel. A further USB Device connection is available for the Pa2X Pro to connect with a computer (PC or Mac) for fast exchange of large amounts of data from the internal SSD memory and Hard Disk or as a MIDI connection without the need for extra MIDI computer interfaces.
Hard Disk Drive
Of course, a huge capacity Hard Disk is standard on board for storing everything you need - and everything you record during a performance using the exciting MP3 record feature!
Compatibility
And if you have been one of the many longstanding Korg Arranger users, you will be happy to know that even though the Pa2X Pro is also compatible with the Korg "i-series" style format and with any "musical" Pa50, Pa60, Pa80, Pa1X file. This means your Pa50, Pa60, Pa80 and Pa1X sound programs work in the Pa2X Pro as well so you can keep your favorite Sounds, Styles, Songs, and Performances while benefiting from a cutting edge keyboard. Of course, the Pa2X Pro is fully compatible with Pa800 data.

Korg's flagship professional arranger workstation is better than ever.
The Korg Pa Series has a new flagship: the Pa3X, the most realistic, powerful, and easy-to-use arranger workstation ever produced. For years, Korg’s Pa Series has been the most respected, envied, and successful line of interactive arranger workstations on the planet. Once again, Korg has raised the standard of excellence by offering new, richer, and more realistic sounds; creating amazing new features, and offering a fresh – yet elegant – design.
Two to choose from The Pa3X comes in two different configurations. First is the compact and lightweight 61-key model. Also available is the 76-key version, offering a semi-weighted action and a motorized tilting display. Both keyboards feel great, and both models feature naturally responsive key-on / key-off velocity sensitivity and aftertouch, and both were designed for beginners through to demanding professional keyboard players.
First appearances! The elegant aluminum cabinet and inspiring user interface was conceived to make a strong visual statement by a renowned team of talented industrial designers from Europe. The main panel has been redesigned and optimized to ensure that sliders and knobs are ergonomically and intuitively well positioned to enhance any performance.
Korg's graphical user interface is now even easier to read and has been renewed with more detailed icons and objects thanks to the new TFT Graphical Color Touch Screen. The screen has been enriched with new side tabs for quick access to the most important functions. The new Search feature quickly locates anything needed during live performance. The 76-key model of the Pa3X also features a motorized tilting display!
Paas quick-connect monitor An optional super high-fidelity speaker/amplification bar has been specifically designed to connect directly to the keyboard. Useful for both home use and on-stage monitoring, the PaAS uses Korg’s “Easy Connect” system: no additional support, no cables, no power supply needed to deliver crisp, clean full range sound.
Sound quality at its best! Based on Korg’s sophisticated EDS (Extended Definition Synthesis) Engine, the Pa3X provides truly outstanding new sounds. Korg's RX (Real eXperience) Technology and the DNC (Defined Nuance Control) system refine an already powerful sound engine, allowing the performer to accurately and expressively introduce the most subtle nuances and sound articulation. Assignable switches and a ribbon strip have been added to the joystick control; the result is deeper control and even richer expression.
Many demanding professional sampling sessions with some of the finest musicians in the music industry have resulted in more detailed natural sounds than ever before. More than 1,100 sounds, including a new stereo grand piano (with string resonance and damper realism) and new electric pianos from the acclaimed KORG SV-1 stage piano; new wind instruments, basses and stunning guitars; plus new digital drawbars with leakage and key on/off noises provide the perfect sound foundation for any harmonic and melodic need.
More than 100 drumkits, including new Real Ambience Drumkits, give life to any rhythmic texture and sound truly authentic due to the Drums Family Easy Editing, which gives total control over volume, pitch, EQ, ambience, and more.
The vast 256 MB memory (PCM User memory) can be expanded to a massive 512 MB (when calculated as 16-bit linear data), with the optional EXB-M256 memory expansion board, so custom sounds can easily be added. Another first is the Self-Refresh Memory Backup battery for all factory and user PCM data, making start-up of the Pa3X much, much faster. An intelligent re-charging system ensures the battery is always charged.
The internal Sampler is now equipped with a new Sound Compression tool (no loss, 1:2 ratio). The Pa3X can also Load/Import Korg, WAV, AIFF, and Akai samples and export in WAV or AIFF. Sounds can be fully edited, and can now use up to 24 oscillators for each note!
The General MIDI (GM) sound bank has been improved for better compatibility with GM files.
Korg’s Finest Effects The use of premium effects can not only add polish and class to your overall sound; they can also make your music tracks sound more interesting! Korg is famous for its outstanding studio quality effects, and the Pa3X includes the best of the Korg effects library. Up to 8 stereo digital multi-effect processors can be used at once. Over 140 effect types are available, running from the standard reverbs and delays through to the more unusual effects such as vocoding, as well as the new vintage effects from the acclaimed SV-1 Stage Vintage Piano
Waves Audio suite Some effects are suitable for single instruments while others add the final coloring, space and texture to the overall piece. For the latter, the Pa3X includes effects from an industry leader: Waves Audio. The Pa3X includes the powerful MaxxAudio suite, which has been described as "the next generation of audio processing tools". These onboard effects, which include MaxxBass, MaxxVolume, MaxxEQ, MaxxTreble and MaxxStereo, provide unparalleled performance, delivering sound that is louder, clearer, fuller, and more polished.

Do it with Style! The Pa3X delivers over 400 Styles, straight out of the box. Each one is a fully-realized musical environment dedicated to creating a particular musical style. With so many to choose from the Pa3X can provide instant access to a vast and robust range of musical genres. Each Style features 4 Fill In + Break patterns, one for each variation. Using the new Auto Fill function they can be automatically recalled as you move between the four variations. Our international sound team had created many new Styles; and many of our revered and well-known Styles have been improved with new sounds and new effects. The Pa3X holds 1,200 locations for you to save your new Styles and your own settings.
Several new sophisticated parameters which ensure professional and realistic guitar tracks have been added with Guitar Mode 2, making the guitar tracks of every Style rich and authentic.
A new function called Chord Sequencer records your chord progressions on-the-fly allowing the user to immediately play along with their own chord sequence. Player/Sequencer The famous Korg XDS Crossfade Dual Sequencer Player now supports, in addition to the main music formats, the “+G” format for both MP3 and MIDI files which can be played together. This new feature allows backing sequences to play with enriched lyrics and graphics which can be displayed simultaneously on the on-board TFT display and on an external monitor (with the VIF4 option installed). There is also a Marker Function, allowing direct jumps to a given position in the song. A sophisticated Score Viewer is also available.
Two different MP3 or MIDI files can be played simultaneously and both MIDI and MP3 files can be transposed, accelerated or slowed down. Powerful new technology drives the all new Advanced Vocal Remover, allowing vocals to be removed from MP3 files with unparalleled accuracy. More advanced than a simple center-channel cancellation tool, the Advanced Vocal Remover keeps the original stereo image of the song while removing just the main vocals.
The enhanced 16-track sequencer allows the most sophisticated levels of sequencing, but also provides quick and easy song creation using the Backing Sequence function. And because the Pa3X is very clever, it can record your entire performance! You can run a song, play the keyboard, sing along and everything will be recorded in MP3 format and stored on an external USB device or in the internal Hard Disk (76 version only; optional for the 61 key version).
The SongBook Particularly useful for live use, the SongBook is a fully programmable and easily searchable Music Database. Each entry contains all the settings required to play a particular song.
