Behringer S16 Digital Snake System at a Glance:
AES50 networking capability provides compatibility with many digital mixers
Remote-controllable preamps make setup fast, easy, and painless
Total integration with Behringer's P-16 personal monitoring system
AES50 networking capability provides compatibility with many digital mixers When Behringer first developed their S16 digital snake, they intended it to go hand-in-hand with their powerful X32 digital mixing system. But limiting such a convenient and affordable digital snake to the X32 alone would have been a shame, which is why Behringer designed it around the strict guidelines established by Klark Teknik. The result is an affordable digital snake that's completely compatible with any digital console that sports an AES50 digital Ethernet connection. So, whether you're running a SoundCraft, Allen & Heath, Midas, or even a Behringer digital mixing board, if it's got an AES50 Ethernet port on it, if you've got an S16 digital snake, you're never more than a single connection away from your stage box.
Remote-controllable preamps make setup fast, easy, and painless Even if you try to get a jog in every day, no one likes having to run up to the stage every time you have to make an adjustment to your stage box. Thanks to the S16's remote-controllable preamp design, those back-and-forth cross-venue dashes are a thing of the past. Using the Klark Teknik SuperMAC protocol, your S16 will show up in your digital mixer's OS, giving you the control you need over your pres, right from the front of house position. And by the way, these preamps are the exact same high-quality Midas preamps found in the X32 console, so you know you're getting quality sound with low noise and tons of headroom.
Total integration with Behringer's P-16 personal monitoring system Streamlined, affordable, and super-easy-to-use, everyone's raving about Behringer's Powerplay P16 personal monitoring systems. When you add an S16 digital snake system to your PA rig, you're not just getting a great set of remote-controllable preamps and ditching tons of bulky cable, you're ready to add an advanced personal monitoring system directly inline with the rig you already have. That's because your S16 digital snake comes equipped with Ultranet connectivity, which provides your Powerplay P16-M monitor controllers with a digital split straight from the stage box.
Features:
Simple, flexible, and affordable digital snake system that works with any AES50 network-ready digital console
16 x fully programmable and remote-controllable Midas mic preamps give you exceptional sound, right from the stage
8 x analog, servo-balanced XLR outputs let you send complete monitor mixes to the stage
AES50 network ports featuring Klark Teknik SuperMac technology, providing you with ultra-low latency digital audio that's in-ear compatible
Up to 328' of networking capability via a single lightweight CAT-5e cable (not included)
Dual AES50 ports let you cascade multiple S16 units, without a merger or a router
Precise LED metering plus 7-segment displays let you keep a close eye on your levels
Headphones output assignable to any of the inputs/outputs for on-stage monitoring
Ultranet connectivity for Behringer's Powerplay P16 Personal Monitoring System is perfect for In-Ear applications
Dual ADAT outputs for use in splitter mode and stand-alone digital multicore applications

The REAC splitter equipped with embedded power
“REAC Embedded Power” is unique Roland technology that enables the transfer of not only the digital audio signal but also the power required by the connected device - all via one CAT5e cable. The S-4000D Splitter and Power Distributor is equipped with 10 REAC ports including 8 ports of REAC Embedded Power. The S-4000D can automatically detect and distinguish a product not supporting REAC Embedded Power. In this case, power is not provided allowing the S-4000D to also function as a standard splitter when required.

The S-OPT is a REAC optical converter that converts Roland Digital Snake System REAC signals to and from optical signals for long distance digital audio transmission. By using the REAC optical converter and optical cables (sold separately), the REAC transmission distance can be extended to a maximum of 2 kilometers.
The S-OPT optical connectors are Neutrik OpticalCon connectors and support Mobile Fiber Cable from Neutrik. This optical interface provides for transmitting audio over long distances via optical while still taking advantage of the RSS Digital Snake System’s mobility. OpticalCon provides a Dual LC optical connector (standard LC-Duplex connector, IEC 61754-20) enabling the use of less expensive optical cables for with the Roland Digital Snake System. Two S-OPT units can be connected using the proprietary POWER LINK cable (ARC-15, sold separately) so that redundant power can be supplied from one unit to the other. If power to a single unit is interrupted due to some situation or is damaged, both units will still continue to operate.

Enable new Digital Snake possibilities by merging up to four REAC devices
The S-4000M REAC Merge Unit allows up to four Digital Snake heads to be merged into a REAC stream where the master device recognizes it as single REAC slave unit. This important technology enables distribution of multiple input/output units around a location, venue or stage for flexible point-to-point digital snake or V-Mixing System configurations.
Features:
Merge up to 4 REAC devices into a single REAC stream
Power REAC devices supporting embedded power
Assign channels automatically with auto map function
Patch input and output assignments using PC software or the M-400 / M-380 V-Mixer
Automatically assign input channels using the Auto Map feature
Merge up to four REAC devices together.
The S-4000M merges up to four Digital Snake heads, such as the S-0808, S-1608 and S-4000, and merges the input/ouput to a single REAC signal. Ports 1 to 4 supply REAC embedded power to compatible product such a s the S-0808. The intelligent Auto Map function assigns input channels automatically. REAC master devices recognize the S-4000M as a single REAC slave unit even when multiple digital snake heads are connected.
Distribute outputs to multiple devices.
The S-4000M also serves as a distributor of outputs and/or splitter. Any inputs returning from Port 1 (Master) are distributed to the outputs depending on the devices connected. When S-0808 sare connected, specific output assignments can be set.
Configure Routing from a PC or V-Mixer.
The M-400 / M-380 V-Mixer or dedicated PC Remote Control Software (S-4000RCS) configures routing, input gain, PAD and phantom power.
